Club Activities
Visitors and New Members WELCOME!
Our meetings are held on the 4th Wednesday of each month at The Gap Baptist Church, 1125 Waterworks Road, The Gap, commencing at 7.30pm (Jan-Nov only, no meeting in December). Activities at the meeting include judging of orchids benched by members, guest speakers, technical advice, workshops on growing orchids and a chat over a cuppa.
A New Growers Group takes place prior to the meetings from 7pm – 7.30pm to help those new to growing orchids with advice, ideas and problemsolving, presented by more experienced growers from WBOS, and/or invited guests.
A newsletter is published each month with information on events, photos and cultural notes.
Monthly Meetings
Throughout the year, we host relaxed social get-togethers at different locations, where members can connect, share their passion, and enjoy learning from each other.
These events often include hands-on demonstrations of orchid growing techniques, plus the occasional field trip to explore fascinating orchid habitats across South East Queensland.
Bush Walks - Orchid House Crawls
Twice a year, our society proudly hosts spectacular Orchid Shows in the auditorium at the beautiful Mt Coot-tha Botanical Gardens — a celebration of colour, creativity, and the incredible diversity of orchids grown by our members.
